Kathy Hofmann is a Wisconsin-based landscape painter. Her work is inspired by the Barbizon and Hudson River school traditions of landscape painting.
“Landscape has been the focus of my paintings for many years. The history and tradition of American and European landscape painting movements including the Hudson River School, Barbizon School, and Luminism strongly influence my subject matter and methods.
Hazy pastures, light breaking through trees in the early morning, long afternoon shadows across a field — I have lived and worked in these rural scenes much of my life. My paintings provide an opportunity to communicate my deep connection to these bucolic and rapidly disappearing spaces.”
