Mythological characters are often times referred to in my paintings and in their titles. By doing so they add a rich storytelling overtone to the paintings. Clytie, in Greek Mythology was a water nymph and loved the God of the Sun - Helios. The gesture of the cow and the inclusion of sunflowers in the composition reference their story.
