Exhibit I

“An Artist’s Food for Joy”


We are excited to open our 50th Anniversary season with a group show that will include artwork featured in our new benefit cookbook available in May 2019!  This will be our third and final benefit cookbook.  We are excited to add to the over $200,000 raised from our first two sold out cookbooks.  In addition to artwork featured in the cookbook, this opening group show will include other food, kitchen or cooking related artwork ranging from a painting of a slice of pie to a corn field or an apple orchard.

Saturday, May 4, 10am-3pm: Sue Steckart Jarosh Book Signing 

We are so proud of J.R.’s mom, Sue, for publishing her new book, Lighthouse Hero, the third in a series of children’s books featuring historic Door County landmarks. Sue will be at the gallery signing books during our opening day celebration.

In addition to the Cookbook Group Show the work of Nathan Hatch, Patricia Locke and Dale Olsen will also be featured during Exhibit I.

Saturday, May 25, 4-7pm: Reception to meet the artists

Artist introductions and short talks in the courtyard at 5 pm.  Wine and hors d’ ouevres will be served.

Sunday, May 26, 1-3pm: Painting Demonstration by Dale Olsen

Dale will demonstrate his oil painting techniques in the gallery courtyard.


Exhibit II

John A. Sayers and Nocturnal Show


Our nocturnal show was inspired by a wonderful night spent celebrating dear friends of the gallery at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, WI.  After a fantastic dinner we went outside and danced under the stars and thought what a fun idea for a show.  Thank you Cynthia, Tom, Heidi and John for the inspiration!  This group show will include night skies, moon related pieces, a beautiful scene at dusk and other pieces inspired by “Dancing in the Moonlight” theme.

The paintings of John A. Sayers will be featured in the Courtyard Gallery.

Saturday, June 29, 5-10pm: 50th Anniversary Party

An evening of food, drink, art, music and fun to celebrate 50 wonderful years!  The festivities will include demonstrations, a book signing, food by McEvoy’s Culinaria and music from The Last Revel.

Art demonstrations by painter Susan Hale, sculptor James G. Moore and potter Thomas Skupniewitz.  5-7pm

Saturday, June 29, 5-7pm: Anne Emerson Book Signing

We are very excited and proud to share that Nell’s mom and gallery co-founder, Anne Emerson has written her first book, Doodle Love.  Anne and illustrator, Molly Johnson, will be at the gallery signing books during our 50th Anniversary celebration.

Featured artists include Michele Dangelo, Judi Ekholm, Marcia McDonough, Jim Rose and Leslie Wu.

Tuesday, July 23: 11am-2pm: Plein Air Painting Day at Edgewood Orchard

Join us for our 13th annual Plein Air Painting Day at the gallery as part of Peninsula School of Art’s Annual Door County Plein Air Festival July 21-27.  For more details visit  Enjoy complimentary refreshments and conversations with the artists as you stroll through the gallery grounds and watch the plein air painters at work.

Annual Fall Group Exhibit: “Gifts from the Heart”


Our 21st annual group show of artwork especially good for gift-giving, including smaller paintings, glass snowmen and other holiday themed pieces.  Free holiday gift wrapping available!

Saturday, September 21, 1-5pm: Opening Reception

Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

October 26 & October 27, 10am-5pm: Last Weekend of the Season: Thank You Reception
